Description:

Cherleau is an early music ensemble formed in 2014 by students at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. The members were captivated by the music of the English Restoration period they encountered while in school, and they say, Everyone was deeply moved by Purcells *Dido and Aeneas*.Their debut CD is a collection of music by Purcell and Blowthe very roots of their artistry. Both sopranos possess a clear timbre reminiscent of a boy soprano, evoking the voice of a young Emma Kirkby. Though they are early music singers, their voices have a distinctly British character that sets them subtly apart from their French and Italian counterparts.Naxos Japan
