Gwendolyn Meysin, a Dutch violinist who has released *West Side Story* (ORC100145) and the French violin collection *Flame* (ORC100075) on ORCHIDCLASSICS. With this new release, she has produced a highly anticipated album that sheds light on the family bonds and teacher-student relationships surrounding Henryk Wieniawski, one of 19th-century Polands leading violinists.The album opens with one of Henryks signature works, Legend, followed by pieces by his brother Jzef, a pianist; works by his pupil Ysae; works by Enescu, a student of Ysae, and finally, rare works by Henryks daughter, Irene Regine Wieniawski, who was active under the pen name Poldowski. In particular, Ysaes string quintet is a valuable world-first recording, having premiered just in 2022. On this album, outstanding musicians from the Meishin ensemble perform a wide range of works, from violin pieces to piano works and art songs
