Chernyakov’s bold and convincing reinterpretation of the first night of “Die Walkre” with Anja Kampe’s strong and beautiful Brnnhilde is a must-see! Among various projects, the most notable was a new production of “The Ring of the Nibelung” by Dimitri Cherniakov, which was to be performed four nights in a row during the season, but due to Barenboim’s illness, Christian Thielemann was to perform three nights in a row, and Christian Thielemann was to perform one more night.
