Jean Chakmour won first prize at the 10th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in 2018, as well as numerous other awards, including the Chamber Music Prize and the Sapporo Mayors Prize. As a special prize for winning the competition, he was selected to make his recording debut on the BIS label. He released his debut album (KKC-4169) in January 2019, recorded during a session at Act City Hamamatsuthe venue for the competitionand instantly attracted widespread attention. As part of the competitions winners tour, he successfully performed over 20 concerts nationwide starting in April 2019 and has since been visiting Japan regularly.This recording
