Mendelssohns Songs Without Words performed by Lena Kyriakou (19171994), a female pianist from Greece.A child prodigy who gave her first recital at age 6, she later studied abroad in Europe. In Paris, she studied music theory with Vincent Dandy and Albert Roussel and was also active as a composer. Although she is best known for her recording of Chabriers complete piano works, she also excelled at Mendelssohn, and this performance of the Songs Without Words was highly acclaimed at the time of its release.Naxos Japan
