[Haru Kitamura Takes 5th Place! Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition 2026, Cello Division]The Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition, one of the worlds three major music competitions held annually in Brussels, hosted its cello division in 2026. A live album capturing the passionate performances of many young talents competing in an environment known to be even more grueling than other competitions has been released again this year. The first-place winner was Ettore Pagano of Italy, and you can fully appreciate his rich expressiveness on this album as well. Four Odes to the Tides of Flowers, performed by Yo Kitamura, who placed fifth, was the compulsory piece for the competitions finals.
