Description:

Cavallacci, a composer whom the CAPRICCIO label is actively promoting, was a Czech composer who lived during the same era as Shostakovich. Following a collection of chamber music featuring Stefan Dohr and Albrecht Mayer, and Symphony No. 2 conducted by Jakub Hra, his third release is a collection of choral works for children. While involved in the production of radio programs, Kaber also conducted and composed himself, leaving behind a vast body of work ranging from lighthearted, accessible short pieces to weighty orchestral works that reflected the spirit of the times. His childrens choral works are approachable pieces that incorporate wordplay and onomatopoeia; at the same time, they served as source material for the symphonies he composed later in life, making them a crucial body of work for understanding his creative process.
