Academia Montis Regalis

Description:

Vivaldi at his best! A masterful collection of inventive “Concerto without Solo” pieces, where Onofri’s well-honed sense shines through! The latest Vivaldi recording by Enrico Onofri, one of the most renowned violinists in the world of classical music, with the Academia Montis Regalis, where he will serve as Music Director from 2019. Although they have worked together in the past on naive’s Vivaldi editions, this is his first album since becoming music director. Don’t miss this hot combination with a prestigious old music orchestra that has made a name for itself with its recordings with Alessandro de Marchi! The “Concerto for Strings,” written without a soloist, is unique among Vivaldi’s many concertos. The ritornello form familiar to solo concertos has been overshadowed by various acoustic experiments with string ensembles, at times approaching the sonata form or even a string quartet.
