Dobrzyski was a composer of the same generation as Chopin, who lived in Poland under the oppressive rule of Imperial Russia; he had close ties to Chopin, having studied under Jzef Elsner in Warsaw during the same period. Also included on the album is a masterpiece of Romantic violin concertos: Henryk Wieniawskis (18351880) Violin Concerto No. 2. The soloist is a winner of the Wieniawski International Violin Competition (2001), the Paganini International Violin Competition in Mos
