• Alice Coltrane is the undisputed godmother of the spiritual jazz of the Sixties and Seventies, and even today an avowed influence on such diverse artists as Flying Lotus, Kamasi Washington, Solange and Radiohead. With the album “Kirtan: Turiya Sings”, recorded in 1981 but now available for the first time in this form and to a wide audience, one experiences an Alice Coltrane who has intensified the spiritual elements of her music and made them more tangible than ever.
