Altered Image is a post-punk-new wave band from Glasgow, Scotland, led by frontwoman Claire Grogan. Their debut album “Happy Birthday”, released in 1981 and produced by Stephen Severin of Suzy & The Banshees, is now available on the Edsel / Demon label in a deluxe 2-CD deluxe edition in a 7″ spread package. CD1 contains the original album, and CD2, a bonus disc, contains the single AB-side tracks not included on the album, such as “Dead Pop Stars” and a cover of T. Rex’s “Jeepster,” as well as an extended 12-inch version of the song, and the “Real Estate” track, which was only included on the sonosheet that came with Flexipop magazine at the time. and “Real Toys (New Version),” which was only included on the sono-sheet that came with “Flexipop” magazine at the time.
