Robert Saxton is a British composer who was mentored by Benjamin Britten. He also studied under Luciano Berio for a time, and his works are complex and intricate, yet remain accessible to the listener. The pieces on this album, composed between 2013 and 2019, are all very easy on the ear.The album features performances by some of Britains leading musicians, including the renowned baritone Roderick Williams, who sings Time and the Seasons (based on Saxtons own text), pianist Claire Hammondwho specializes in contemporary worksand the Fidlio Trio.Naxos Japan
