Sardinia is located in the center of the western Mediterranean. The islands capital is Cagliari. Around the 20th century B.C., a people known as the Nuragic (also famous as the name of the archaeological sites) arrived in this region. Mentioned in Egyptian inscriptions as the People of the Sea, they are believed to have set out from Lydia and reached the Tyrrhenian Sea, where they split into groupssome heading to Sardinia and others to Etruria. It is believed that the Nuragic people who arrived in Sardinia are the ancestors of the islands current inhabitants. This opera, *The Sardinian*, unfolds the story of a single warrior, centered on the love, battles, and faith in the gods of those people from 3,000 years ago. Ennio Pollino (19101959), a composer from Cagliari, had a deep interest in Sardinian history and, at the age of 49, completed the opera *The Sardinians*, which incorporated the fi
