Cassuto (1938), a Portuguese conductor and composer. While his passion has always centered on classical works and orchestral music, he is occasionally drawn to avant-garde sounds and has even attended the Darmstadt Summer Courses to study twelve-tone music. He states that he writes his works for a wide audience, and this concept is evident in the tracks featured on this album. Return to the Future, which also serves as the albums title track, is a work inspired by Bachs Brandenburg Concertos. Using an electronic keyboard in place of a Baroque harpsichord and making full use of brilliant scales reminiscent of Italian Baroque music, he constructs a magnificent piece.
