CPO, a label dedicated to actively introducing composers lost to history, is releasing another collection of works by an intriguing figure. The Dutch composer Waegenaar is renowned, alongside Deenebloeck, as a founder of Dutch modern music and is extremely popular among a small but dedicated group of fans; unfortunately, however, the reality is that most people dont even remember his name (In fact, there have been instances where his name was mistaken for Wagner due to its spelling). While he wrote organ works in the style of Bach early in his career, his true strength lay in orchestral compositions.
