A Collection of Works by Tormis, a Leading Figure in Contemporary Choral MusicA series of works for male chorus by Estonian composer Verjo Tormis, performed by the Estonian National Male Choir (RAM) and Ants Soots. The works included in Volumes 13 of Estonian Perspectives (NCD17, NCD20, NCD23) have been gaining attention as part of the repertoire of Japanese mens choirs. In the fourth volume, *Visions Beyond Estonia*, as the title suggests, the program features works based on ancient songs from the regions surrounding Estonia. These include the *Bulgarian Trilogy*, based on Bulgarian folk songs; *Bilina of Northern Russia*, for male chorus and solo voice; and *Rhapsody of National Friendship*, commissioned by the Estonian National Male Choir to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Soviet Union.
