This is one of those cassette tapes that was quietly released in 1994 and made a big splash around the world when it was discovered in 2006 and reissued by Awesome Tapes From Africa in 2015. However, despite the painstaking work of ATFA’s longtime mastering engineer Jessica Thompson, the sound quality of the source material was not always good. The original DAT tapes were mold-infested and on the verge of collapse. Now, after years of searching for the highest quality original cassettes, the “Obaa Sima Anniversary Remaster” is available.
