Baltakas, Vykintas (1972-)

Description:

Second work by Lithuanian contemporary music composer Vikintas Baltakas (1972-), whose 2016 release on the KAIROS label debut was a great success! The ouroboros is an ancient symbol of a snake or dragon swallowing its own tail, constantly creating itself and forming a circle, often representing self-transformation and cyclicality. Baltacas’ ensemble pieces on this album are also composed based on recycled, reused, or “found” musical materials. The performances are ideally suited to the work of Rita Balta, Johannes Kalitzke, and other supporters of Baltacas’s work. Tokyo M-Plus
