“The Feast of Fat Thursday (Festin del Giovedi Frasso),” a madrigal comedy by the Italian composer Adriano Banchieri (15681634), who was active from the late Renaissance through the early Baroque period . This collection features a dramatic series of madrigals depicting the festivities held on the last Thursday of Carnivala day when people feast in preparation for the fasting of Lentcombined with a masked play by the playwright Giulio Cesare Croce (15501605).
