Description:

BASIC is a trio featuring Chris Forsyth, Mikel Patrick Avery, and Douglas McCombs. Using guitars, drum machines, samplers, homemade electronic devices, and a variety of percussion instruments, they fuse their vast range of influences and diverse musical backgrounds to traverse art rock, trance jazz, and collective improvisation. This album features a free-spirited and addictive sound that fluidly traverses Tuareg rhythms, angular guitar, gritty funk, dub-like bass, and highlife rhythms, further developing the nocturnal guitar explorations of their debut. Fusing non-Western rhythms, acid/psychedelic elements, and funky harmonics, they express electro-acoustic groove music that stimulates the depths of the body and the nervous system.
