When we live our lives listening closely to the world as it truly is, we realize that we are immersed in a sea of language. This flood of excess language is a theme that has fascinated composer and musician BenVida for many years. The music in this work focuses on a duet of words spoken in a neutral tone, where the ever-shifting rhythms of the words give rise to a complex internal rhythmic structure. Here, the voices of Nina Dante, Christina Vantzou, John Also Bennett, and Felicia Atkinson are added, creating a unique, unified vocal texture that is neither Vidas voice nor any of the others.
