This new recording features works by Gabriel Jackson, a British composer born in the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda who, alongside John Rutter and Bob Chilcott, is highly popular in the Japanese choral world. The Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ is based on a poem by the British poet and playwright T.S. Eliothimself a Merton College alumnuswhich weaves together passages from the Bible, English poetry, and Latin hymns.
