[A collection of 19th- to 21st-century art songs with a maritime theme, performed by an up-and-coming duo]This is the solo debut album by Beth Taylor, a Scottish mezzo-soprano who was a finalist in the 2023 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition and has frequently performed with the Berlin Philharmonic and the Vienna Philharmonic. She is accompanied by British pianist Hamish Brown. This ocean-themed album features Elgars *Pictures at an Exhibition* in a piano arrangement by Brown, as well as rare repertoire ranging from Schubert to Crtin, Smyth, and Alma Mahler.
