In the British rock scene of the early 1970s, when progressive rock and hard rock were evolving in a mixed style, Black Widow left three albums with a sound somewhere between hard and progressive, pushing black magic themes and mixing in wind instruments such as organs and flutes. In addition to these three albums, the band also released their only album and the original first album of their predecessor band, Pesky Gee! the original studio recording of the first album, and the fourth album, which was produced after the release of the third album but ended up being unreleased.
