The first of Danish baritone Bo Skouhuss three Schubert song cycles is The Beautiful Millers Daughter, a song brimming with youthful emotion. Skouhus originally recorded this song some 20 years ago, shortly after his debut, but regarding this re-recording, he says, Im happy to have the opportunity to record this song again. When I was younger, there were parts I sang without giving them much thought, but as Ive grown older, Ive come to understand the music more deeply and have developed a different perspective on this song, he said. The piano part, which plays a crucial role, is performed by the renowned Vlada from Vienna. Engaging in an intimate dialogue with the vocals, he sheds new light on the work.Naxos Japan
