This is a shock, three CDs worth of previously unreleased studio recordings by Boretto have appeared. Jorge Borretto (1914-1990) was an American pianist of Cuban origin. He is a master pianist who has many fans for his 19th century style piano playing with great skill and rich expression. In addition, Bolette had a unique, rich tone, and his generously sung Liszt and Chopin were superb. Borretto has a truly pedigreed piano DNA, having studied with Godowsky and then with Giloti, a cousin of Rachmaninoff and a favorite pupil of Liszt and Tchaikovsky.
