The Rachmaninoff Series performed by Boris Giltburg. The 24 Preludes is a collection of highly diverse works spanning more than 18 years of composition; they are among the most challenging pieces to perform, requiring not only exceptional technical skill but also a wide range of musical expression. In particular, Op. 3 No. 2known for its dramatic styleis a piece from another collection, *Fantasy Pieces*, and is a popular piece said to mimic the sound of the bells at the Moscow Kremlin. The remaining 23 pieces were composed at various points throughout Rachmaninoffs career; however, like Chopins work of the same name, they cover all 24 keys, and no two pieces share a similar atmosphere.
