Boston Cameratas Beautiful and Solemn Medieval Christmas MusicThe Boston Camerata was founded in 1954 as an organization dedicated to performing and researching the instruments in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. In the mid-1970s, the concert program Medieval Christmas, led by then-director Joel Cohen, was released on LP by Nonsuch and became a huge hit. Since then, medieval Christmas music has remained one of the Boston Cameratas most important repertoire items. Here, the world woven together by the voices of three female singers (who also play instruments) and two instrumentalistsalong with the hardy-gurdy, harp, vihuela, and bellsis both simple and solemn.
