A collection of late Romantic woodwind sonatas brimming with beautiful melodies. British composer York Bowen, being a master pianist himself, composed numerous effective piano pieces, but he also left behind precious treasures for other instruments. All four sonatas for woodwind instruments were written for renowned performers of the time; they push the technical limits of both the soloist and the pianist to the utmost, while never lacking in beautiful melodies.
