Schuricht himself was so pleased with this concert that he wrote a letter to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra a few days later (the letter is translated in the commentary). EMI was so impressed with this concert that they planned to record it. The result is a masterpiece that can be considered the definitive recording of the concert. The recording is in mono and was made by Rothweisroth, a U.S. military broadcaster with ample funds and materials.
