Italian music loved at the court of the Catholic megalomaniacal stateAn album of works by Italian musicians performed at the court of Vilnius from the end of the 16th to the beginning of the 17th century, from the late Renaissance to the early Baroque. The performances are by the Canto Fiorito, an ancient music ensemble formed in Lithuania in 2013, and recorded in October 2023 at the Grand Ducal Palace of Lithuania to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the ensemble and the 700th anniversary of the founding of the city of Vilnius. The palace is realistic because it is where the music was actually performed about 400 years ago, during the reign of Zygmunt III. The booklet (English, 8 pages) includes a commentary by the artistic director, Cauveira.
