The works of Cristofaro Carresana, an important musician in the history of Italian music, performed by I Turquini! The Cantata by Cristofalo Calesana (c.1640-1709), a 17th century Neapolitan musician, is performed by “Antonio Florio” and “I Turquini”, two pioneers of the Baroque music of Naples, Italy, which has been buried in the history. Calesana was one of the most famous Neapolitan musicians before the rise of Alessandro Scarlatti, along with his famous teacher Francesco Provenzale. Calesana’s music, especially religious music such as oratorios, is said to have greatly influenced the next generation of Pergolesi, and he is an important musician in the history of the Neapolitan school and Italian music.
