Although the club ceased operations in the 1970s, it is thanks to them that Schurichts only stereo recording of Bruckners Symphony No. 7 has been preserved. While the Hague Philharmonic is often regarded as a second-tier orchestra, a careful listen to the performance reveals evidence of meticulous rehearsal down to the finest details. In that sense, one could say they act as the conductors very hands and feeteven more so than the Vienna Philharmonic. We recently acquired a tape in excellent condition and mastered it with care to preserve the soft, delicate, and crystal-clear sound of the original recording. (Naoya Hirabayashi)King International
