A sound story of “five historical women” by Carlotta Ferrari, a female composer born in 1975. In the form of a symphonic poem, the story is about Mary Shelley, the English novelist and creator of the monster “Frankenstein”; Maria Restituta, a martyred nun persecuted by the Nazis; Guglielma, a medieval heretic; Frida Kahlo, a Mexican painter; and Theresa of Avila, a medieval nun. Ferrari used his own technique of “modal harmony” to create musical portraits of these women in his magnificent organ pieces. Recorded January 2018.
