Gabriel Garrido, an Argentine conductor specializing in Italian and Latin American Baroque music, and Ensemble Elima, the period ensemble he founded in 1981. Garrido & Ensemble Elima recorded Cavalli’s opera “The Love of Apollo and Daphne” in 2007-2008, and now it is newly re-released by Glossa! The Love of Apollo and Daphne, the first collaboration between two geniuses, composer Francesco Cavalli and poet Giovanni Francesco Busenello, is one of the most important early operatic works in Venice, first performed in 1640 at the Teatro San Cassiano in Venice!
