Christian Lindbergs (b. 1958) career as a conductor began in 2010 when he was invited to conduct the Northern Sinfonia in the UK. Buoyed by a favorable review in *The Guardian*, he was appointed music director of the Nordic Chamber Orchestra and the Swedish Wind Ensemble within less than a year. The BIS label, which had previously released albums featuring him as a trombonist, also began producing recordings of him conducting various orchestras. A series of symphonies by the Swedish composer Allan Pettersson, as well as Lindbergs own orchestral works, have been released on an ongoing basis.
