The theme is 1955 in Greece!A collection of works by Theodorakis and Christou!Mikis Theodorakis (1925) composed the ballet music *Erofili* (later renamed *Passacaglia for Two Pianos*) in 1955 while studying at the Paris Conservatory under Eugne Bigot and Olivier Messiaen. This work is one of Theodorakiss most eccentric and enigmatic compositions, yet from the opening depiction of an archaic landscape to the evocation of a cathedral organ in the finale, it foreshadows later works such as *Axion Esti* and *Canto General* (The Great Poem), and can be regarded as a significant work that heralded Theodorakiss future development as a composer.
