Young Violinist Kokoro Tomitas Debut AlbumTitled ORIGINS, this album brings together pieces that hold special meaning for her, having played the violin since childhood. The album opens with The Street Musician from Enescus Impressions of Childhood, composed in 1940. With its improvisational melody featuring folk-inspired elements, this piece is a fitting start to the album. This is followed by Poulencs Sonata, written in memory of the Spanish poet Federico Garca Lorca, and Lily Boulangers Nocturne, which reflects the painful experiences of war, before moving on to a piece by Hubay, who, like Tomita, was born into a musical family. The carefully curated programfeaturing Ravels jazz-inspired sonata and concluding with the young Debussys masterpiece Beautiful Twilightfully conveys her current state of mind.[Coco Tomita]Born in Okayama in 2002, she moved to the UK when she was six months old.
