Cyminology

Description:

This is the ECM debut album by Cyminology, a young band based in Berlin that has received the Berlin Jazz & Blues Award in 2004 and 2006, as well as quite a few other awards, and has been gaining attention internationally, especially in Germany. The band is a big name that creates poetic, sensual, melancholic, dynamic and chilling music with intercultural chamber jazz. Cymin Samawatie, the leader of the band, is of Iranian descent, and is the front vocalist, as well as the author of many songs and lyrics (lyrics are in Farsi). The four other drummers are of Indian descent, a French-born pianist, and a German bass player, giving the music a very unique feel!
