He composed over 100 works for the guitar and made a significant contribution to the development of the instrument. This collection, *Capricci (Giribizzi)*, consists of 43 short pieces written in the fall of 1820 for Mr. Botts charming daughter, the Naples Girl. It unfolds a world of virtuosic and dazzling music based on motifs from the works of Rossini, Paisiello, Jussmayer, Mozart, Giuliani, and Paganini himselfwhich were flooding the market at the timeto create a world of virtuosic and dazzling music.
