Following the 1992 premiere of his Symphony No. 1, Low, P. Glass has gone on to compose Symphonies Nos. 2, 3, 4 (Heroes), 5 (Choral), 6 (Plutonian Ode), and 7 (A Toltec Symphony), and now a recording of his Symphony No. 8 is already available. The world premiere in November 2005 was conducted by R. Davis, who has maintained a deep connection with Glass since his Symphony No. 1, and this CD marks the world premiere recording. The Orange Mountain Music label also features a recording of Symphony No. 6 with the same Bruckner Orchestra Linz, which has been a staple since its release; this new album is likewise a must-have (a must-have for Glass fans).
