Guido Alberto Fano (18751961) was active in Italy from the late 19th century to the early 20th century as a composer, pianist, and teacher. The works included in the Complete Works for Violin and Piano are characterized by classical instrumental compositional techniques reminiscent of Martucci, with whom he studied in Bologna. Through unpublished and previously unpublished works, as well as arrangements of Bachs sonatas, this collection reveals a little-known facet of 20th-century Italian instrumental musica facet that earned the respect of Busoni, Martucci, and Respighi.Tokyo M Plus
