Czech Music by Weidhaas & Avenhaus! Josef Suk studied with Dvok at the Prague Conservatory and married Dvok’s daughter. This disc alternately couples the works of these two closely connected artists, teacher and student and father and son-in-law. This album, the fifth by the duo of Antje Weidhaas and Silke Arnhaus, is an expansion of their “European tour” to Eastern Europe, where they had previously recorded works from Germany, Austria, and France. The careful sound production, which allows the music to breathe over time by listening carefully to the waves of phrases, is very attractive. Tokyo M Plus
