Cellist Eduardo Vassallo is the principal cellist of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and a passionate admirer of Piazzolla. In 2002, he founded the ensemble El ltimo Tango and has been focusing on performing tango music, particularly works by Piazzolla (SOMMCD033). On this album, he performs cello arrangements of Piazzollas worksadapted for him by Jos Bragat, a renowned arranger and close friend of Piazzolla. The cellos sound, almost as if it were sobbing, touches the heart deeply.Naxos Japan
