This album features veteran guitarist Elliott Fisk, who has spent over 30 years studying Bachs *Unaccompanied Cello Suites* and presents his own arrangements of the complete set for guitar. Inspired by Bachs own practice of arranging the Fifth Suite for lute (BWV 995), Fisk creatively reconstructs the works while making the most of the guitars unique characteristics. Through changes in key and harmonic expansion, he vividly brings out the rich polyphonic possibilities inherent in the original compositions.Elliot Fisk studied at Yale University, where he founded the universitys guitar program. As the last student of the master Segovia, he currently mentors the next generation at the Mozarteum University and the New England Conservatory.
