[Music Performed in Viennese Salons in the Early 20th Century]This album features a collection of chamber music works composed between 1896 and 1923 by five composers who were active primarily in Vienna. It brings together masterpieces that were at the cutting edge of art at the timedazzling music lovers who gathered in salons in search of new soundsand which still radiate an undimmed charm today. The album features Bergs Chamber Concerto in the composers own arrangement and Schoenbergs Chamber Symphony in an arrangement by Webern. Both are superb arrangements that further reduce the original small ensemble size, thereby concentrating the essence of the works.
