Inspired by his travelogue *Coryats Crudities*, this album is a musical journey that takes listeners through the streets, squares, palaces, and St. Marks Basilica of 16th-century Venice. The up-and-coming recorder consort Ensemble Feuervogel and master musician Ian Harrison vividly recreate dance pieces, ricercares, madrigals, and canzonas by composers such as Mainero, Merlo, Bassano, and Villart.
