Eric Lu, an American pianist who placed fourth at the 17th International Chopin Piano Competition in 2015 at the age of just 17, is a Chinese-American born in Massachusetts in 1997. He won the 2017 International German Piano Prize. He also won first prize at the 2018 Leeds International Piano Competition! His thoughtful, composed, and profound performances have earned high praise, with critics noting that they far exceed the level one would expect from a pianist who is still only 20 years old.
