A collection of string arrangements of various works, including three arrangements by Alban Berg himself. The arrangement of the piano sonata by Klaveren was prepared specifically for this album. This collection of early works, arranged by conductor Ernst Kovacic, was written during Bergs time as a student of Schoenberg; yet it possesses a beauty reminiscent of Mahlers slight return to Romanticism, and this arrangement fully brings out the works distinctive character.
