Rockbergs piano pieces make us realize something so obvious: simply using the twelve tones opens up infinite possibilities.This is the second volume of piano works by American composer Rockberg, following Vol. 1 (8.559631) and Vol. 4 (8.559634). He composed piano works throughout nearly his entire career, continuing to express a condensed musical world while evolving through various stylistic phasesfrom his earliest variations in 1941 to Ring of Fire for Two Pianos from 199697. The 12 Bagatelles included here are a collection of short yet self-contained pieces. It is said that when pianist Harsh once pointed out to Rockberg a connection to Schoenberg, Rockberg immediately countered, Thats not true.
